Welcome to my blog, 'A Lifetime with pets', which is about exactly that. My four children are all finally reaching the stage in life where they think about spreading their wings, and that has given me some time to reflect back upon the amazing journey that we have come through as a family and I came to the realization that many of our most important stepping stones included some extra family members- our pets.
This blog is intended to be a friendly place where we can all share the stories of our beloved pets and how they have influenced each of us. Follow along as I recount various milestones or tremendous moments that have occurred during the raising of my family, and how our pets were involved in each of them.
It is my firm belief that having so many pets around during the influential part of their childhood has had a tremendous positive development on each of my children. I hope to encourage you with our experiences. Feel free to comment and send me your own stories.

Crazy cat, loves water
We know cats love to chase or catch moving things, but trying to catch water is a harder then this kitten will admit. Will this kitten like the bath as well as the bath water?

Lady Alice
Alice (squirmy noisy Alice) is the hardest pet to get a picture of, because she is never still. Even if you catch her sleeping, she will hear you coming and will be up and squirming about, as seen in this picture.
Did I mention Alice is noisy? Like me Alice is rarely quite. Alice meow's about everything. Alice meow’s to come in and go out, if you don’t let her in, she will pop the screen on the window. It’s loud and it tears the screen we try not to let her do that. Once I bring her in that doesn’t quite her, she follows me around meowing until I sit down. But that’s still not enough, now she meow’s to be petted and while she is being petted, just like a female she has to tell us everything. If she hasn't been fed yet she meow’s for her food. This meow is different it’s demanding with circling and pacing to and from the bowl. How much plainer can she get? Like most cat’s she gets excited about the can opener. She can be outside when you start opening a can of Tuna and will be at the door to get in before your done opening it. Meals are a noisy time here. The dogs just look at us with sad eyes, hoping we drop something, but not Lady Alice she tells us through the whole meal how much she wants our food. Alice likes most of our food, not just meat, but broccoli, and cashews. Alice loves cashews she really meows for cashews.(we try to put Alice outside before we eat, she talks to much.) In the evening when we are watching T.V. Alice comments continually, until she gets bored of it then she rubs her head against my head, which turns into chewing on my hair. Alice will rub and chew until she falls asleep laying on my head.

Petfinder
If you are looking to save one cat and provide him a great home, please meet Rumba. Rumba is approx. 2 years of age with gray striped fur, a white chest and white paws. He is friendly, independent, loves to play and is curious; he especially loves belly rubs, chasing balls of paper and especially laying in front of our gas heater soaking in the warmth. He would also love a window to sit in and watch the birds & squirrels outside. Rumba is already both updated with age appropriate vaccines & neutered. The reason he needs a new home is that he is not getting along with our older cat; he is being quite dominant with her and needs to therefore, be placed into a home as the only pet where he can thrive and be the king of his castle. If you would like to meet Rumba, please call Denise at 609-519-5208. Thank you. http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/19324151

Introducing Koda Michael Sonneman
Wednesday, August 3, 2011
Hello, My Name is Rica Sonneman.
I am Kim’s second oldest child and only daughter. I am 22 years old and I just got married last year in March. My wonderful husband Aaron and I are living with my parents while we save money for a place of our own. We have our loveable overly excited cocker spaniel puppy Koda. And I have a baby ball python named minion.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am attending college courses online. I am working towards a bachelor’s degree in business management. I plan on opening my own pet store in the future. You will find that I am a very random person and as my mother always tells me I can be silly at times. I hope you can join us in our lifetime with pets. We have so many wonderful memories to share with you all. And we are making more as we go along.
