Greetings!

Welcome to my blog, 'A Lifetime with pets', which is about exactly that. My four children are all finally reaching the stage in life where they think about spreading their wings, and that has given me some time to reflect back upon the amazing journey that we have come through as a family and I came to the realization that many of our most important stepping stones included some extra family members- our pets.

This blog is intended to be a friendly place where we can all share the stories of our beloved pets and how they have influenced each of us. Follow along as I recount various milestones or tremendous moments that have occurred during the raising of my family, and how our pets were involved in each of them.

It is my firm belief that having so many pets around during the influential part of their childhood has had a tremendous positive development on each of my children. I hope to encourage you with our experiences. Feel free to comment and send me your own stories.

The Joys of being small

Micky is so silly, usually he tells Koda to get out of the way, but yesterday Mickey was in a hurry and Koda was in the way, so he walked under Koda. It scared Koda he's hasn't had a dog walk under him before, especially not the boss.

Maggie our toy

Maggie will play fetch all day long. In this picture, she is staring at me trying to get me to play with her. She is real good at staring at you until you give in and play with her.

Lady Alice

It took two weeks to get this picture of Alice in her house. Well it wasn't Alice's house see the paw prints on it, so yes it was for a dog, but Alice claimed it so it became hers. Alice is quick to come tell you about her day, or what she wants you to do, so it took two weeks to be fast enough to get this picture before Alice came out to tell me all about it. I almost wasn't fast enough for this picture she is getting up.

Koda looks like a Poodle

Poor Koda we didn't want to shave Koda again so we shaved just his face so we could see his eyes, and his feet because they are giant sponges which soaks up water and it's rainy season here so we keep his feet shaved. We love being able to see his eyes, but he looks like a poodle. What do you think, should we shave him all the way?

Mickey our little Houdini played possum

One day we are sitting in the house and we hear tires screeching, we run outside and there is a truck stop in the middle of the road and Mickey laying in the middle of road with his feet straight in the air. He was stiff and not moving, We were walking around him crying Mickey, Mickey. When the guy that was driving the truck came up and told us that he didn't hit Mickey, the truck went over him, but didn't hit him. We stop crying and I turned and yelled at him like he was in trouble. He jump up and took off for the back yard. Sure enough he didn't have a scratch on him. We're all gretefull that he wasn't hit. He is our little Mickey Bear. We love him very much.
